Launching the Mental Health Advocacy Network of Colorado: A New Chapter in Community Support

In early 2026, a group of passionate mental health professionals and advocates came together with a shared vision: to create a strong, connected voice for mental health in Colorado. This vision gave birth to the Mental Health Advocacy Network of Colorado (MHANCO)—a nonprofit dedicated to advancing equitable access to mental health care, breaking down stigma, and supporting providers —and those they serve — across the state.

Founded by a diverse board of experienced clinicians, policy experts, and community leaders, MHANCO was born out of a deep recognition of the challenges facing both mental health providers and the individuals they serve. With rising demand for services and complex insurance landscapes, many providers—whether solo practitioners, group clinics, university programs, or other affected parties—struggle to navigate barriers that impact care delivery and client outcomes.

MHANCO’s focus is clear: to advocate for policies that strengthen the Independent Provider Network and those they serve or work with in tandem, improve Medicaid and commercial insurance access, and foster partnerships with like-minded organizations. By uniting voices from across Colorado’s mental health landscape, MHANCO aims to create a community where mental health is prioritized, stigma is dismantled, and every person can find the support they need to thrive.

As we grow, MHANCO remains committed to collaboration, innovation, and integrity—building a future where mental health care is accessible, effective, and compassionate for all Coloradans. Together, we are turning vision into action, one step at a time.
